National Palace Museum - 國立故宮博物院

The National Palace Museum is located in Shilin, Taipei, Taiwan. It has a permanent collection of nearly 700,000 pieces of ancient Chinese imperial artifacts and artworks, making it one of the largest of its type in the world. The collection encompasses over 10,000 years of Chinese history from the Neolithic age to the late Qing Dynasty. Most of the collection are high quality pieces collected by China's emperors.

National Chiang Kai-shek Memorial Hall - 中正紀念堂

The National Chiang Kai-shek Memorial Hall is a national monument, landmark and tourist attraction erected in memory of Chiang Kai-shek, former President of the Republic of China. The monument, surrounded by a park, stands at the east end of Liberty Square. The structure is framed on the north and south by the National Theater and National Concert Hall.

Taipei 101 - 台北101

Taipei 101 is Taiwan's tallest skyscraper with 509 meters tall. It has shopping centers from B1 to the 4th floor, banks and financial centers on the 5th floor, business offices from the 6th floor to the 80th floor, VIP Club on the 85th floor, restaurants from the 86th floor to the 88th floor, an indoor viewing area of Taipei City on the 89th floor, and an outdoor viewing area on the 91st floor.

Next to Taipei 101 is the Xinyi commercial district. As one of the most prosperous districts of Taipei City, Xinyi commercial district features a large number of worldwide well-known brand boutiques, such as Chanel, Gucci, and Coach. In addition, this is also a gathering place in Taipei City for exotic restaurants, night clubs, movie theaters, department stores, shopping malls and other entertainments.

Shilin Night Market - 士林夜市

Shilin Night Market is Taipei’s largest and best-known night market in Shilin district with utmost in convenience having MRT Jiantan Station nearby. It is also a must-visit Taipei attraction for oversea travelers during their visit to Taipei. Shilin Night Market is famed for a wide array of authentic Taiwan eateries and fashionable clothing. Most of the shops are housed in the indoor enclosure; other shops and stalls can be seen along the streets.

Guang Hua Digital Plaza building - 光華數位新天地

Located at the intersection of Civic Blvd. and Xinsheng N. Rd., Guang Hua Digital Plaza building is a famous shopping market for 3C products. It consists of six stories above ground. The first story is an exhibition space for brand vendors. The second and third stories are the market place for selling computers, monitors, NBs, projectors, cameras, memory cards, TV games, DVD, BD, etc. with very competitive prices. The fourth and fifth stories are the electronics market for selling speakers, audio equipment, computer peripherals and mobile peripherals, etc. in very good prices. The sixth floor is reserved for repair shops, education classes, and offices.

Syntrend - 三創生活園區

Beside the Guang Hua Digital Plaza building is Syntrend. It opened in 2015 with "Creativity, Innovation and Entrepreneurship" as concepts. All kinds of businesses, including life science and technology, the trend of video, family entertainment, animation to explore the experience of creation and artistic performances, are distributed in this 12 floor building.

Yangmingshan National Park - 陽明山國家公園

Yangmingshan National Park is the only park in Taiwan that has volcanic geography and hot springs. The magnificent mountainous scenery and comfortable weather have made Yangmingshan National Park a perfect summer resort. The natural beauty of the park has won it the reputation as urban forest and the Taipei garden.

Sun Yat-sen Memorial Hall - 國父紀念館

Sun Yat-sen Memorial Hall was built in 1972. It is located on east side of Taipei and is close to the Taipei City Government. The memorial hall was built to commemorate the great founding father of R.O.C., Dr. Sun Yat-sen, and was built on the 100th birthday of Dr. Sun.

Yehliu Geopark - 野柳地質公園

Yeliu is famous for its spectacular wind-eroded rock formations called 'hoodoo stones' and sea gullies, which have created a dramatic landscape with intriguing spots like the Candle Rocks, Mushroom Rocks, Tofu Rocks, Honeycombed Rocks, Pot Hole and Melting Erosion Panel. The Queen's Head (now in danger of breaking), the Fairy Shoe and Candle Rocks enjoy international fame.

Beitou hot spring - 北投溫泉

Beitou hot spring has been famous since Japanese colonial times. The area is surrounded with historic monuments and natural scenic spots. The hot springs hotels in this area are larger both in scale and number, and the natural and manmade resources are also the most plentiful here.

Danshui - 淡水

Danshui is located in the northwest of the Taipei basin. Danshui is surrounded by mountains and rivers and the scenery is beautiful. Take the ferry across the river from Danshui, and in just six minutes you will arrive at Bali Left Bank. Additional scenic spots of interest include Danshui old street and Fisherman's Wharf.

Jiufen - 九份

Jiufen (Jioufen) used to be the center of gold mining. It is located within the hills in the northeast of Taiwan. The village is next to the mountain and facing the sea. The village once was the gold city of Asia and was called little Shanghai or little Hong Kong. However, with the decline of gold mining activities, Jiufen (Jioufen) fades.

"Jiufen Old Street" is the most popular street in Jiufen. Because it used to be a place for people to gather at night, it is also called "dark street" in the past. Whether on weekdays or holidays, it is always crowded. The first Jiufen tea house and Jiufen cultural and historical studios are set here, as well as the viewing platform to overlook the sea.

Maokong Tea Garden - 貓空茶園

The tea farms here are famous for Bouzhong tea and Taiguan Ing. There are many teahouses with diversified styles. They are good places to visit no matter during the day or night. In the daytime, there are tea trees and hills forming green scenery. Many citizens visit the place by taking the mountain tracks. After dusk, Maokong is like an enchanting, mysterious lady.

Jianguo Holiday Flower Market / Jade Market - 建國假日花市 / 玉市

Besides flowers and plants, Jianguo Holiday Flower Market also sells floral instruments and seeds. This is obviously a heaven for gardening lovers. The Da'an Forest Park is sited just right beside the Jianguo Holiday Flower Market; hence it is definitely the best location to admire or buy flowers. Next to the flower market, the Holiday Jade Market offers a wide selection of jade goods. (Both open in the weekends only.)

Taipei Martyrs' Shrine - 忠烈祠

The Martyrs' Shrine, resting on the slopes of the Qing Mountain and overseeing the Keelung River, is located right next to the Grand Hotel. It was built in 1969 and covers a large area. Its grand and magnificent architectural style is similar to that of the Taihe Dian Imperial Palace in Beijing, Mainland China, and symbolizes the martyrs' brave spirit.

Taroko National Park (Hualien, Eastern Taiwan) - 太魯閣國家公園 (花蓮, 東台灣)

Taroko is famous for its spectacular mountains and marble canyons. Cliffs and canyons stretch along Liwu River. Four million years ago, the island of Taiwan was formed by the collision of plates. After millions of years of wind erosion, the marble rocks were exposed and cut by Liwu River, creating impressive grand canyons. From Qingshui to Nanhu Peak, the drop height is 3,742 meters. Such special geography has also bred special flora and fauna in this area. The waterfalls characterized Taroko National Park and the most famous ones are Baiyang Waterfall, Yindai Waterfall, Changchun Waterfall, and Lushui Waterfall. Swallow Grotto (Yanzikou) and Tunnel of Nine Turns (Jiuqudong) are the most impressive natural scenes in Taroko and the canyons here are the narrowest. Tourists can appreciate the natural beauty along the tour track. Swallows nest on the cliff, chirping and flying back and forth.

Sun Moon Lake (Nantou, Central Taiwan) - 日月潭 (南投, 中台灣)

The Sun Moon Lake, located in the middle of Taiwan, with an elevation of 748 meters above sea level, is the only natural big lake in Taiwan. The southern part of Lalu Island is shaped like a new moon, and the northern part is shaped like a sun; hence the name Sun Moon Lake. The most famous sights around Sun Moon Lake are the Itashao, Lalu Island, the Xuanzang Temple, the Ci-en Pagoda, and the Wenwu Temple and so on. The natural forests bordering these roads are good places for bird watching.

Kenting National Park (Pingtung, Southern Taiwan) - 墾丁國家公園 (屏東, 南台灣)

The centerpiece of the Hengchun Peninsula is Kenting National Park, Taiwan's most densely populated and only tropical national park. It includes large stretches of agricultural lands, providing visitors with a view of typical Taiwanese rural life. In addition, the national park includes mountains, forests, pasture, lakes, sand dunes, beaches, and coral reefs. It has everything you could desire when you want to get up front and personal with Mother Nature.
